BAIC Motor Corp Ltd got listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, in December 2014, with help from E-Town Capital, a cornerstone investor of the area. Most of the IPO capital was used to expand production of the Beijing Benz Automotive Co’s base in E-Town. Beijing Benz had industrial output worth 79.5 billion yuan ($ 12.12 billion) in 2015 and sold 250,188 automobiles that same year, up 72.0 percent year-on-year and paid 12.27 billion yuan in tax to the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area.
