E-Town Innovation officially launches as BDA's "Three Science Cities and One Demonstration Area" Innovation Integration Platform

The unveiling ceremony of E-Town Innovation, a subsidiary of Beijing E-Town International Investment and Development Co., Ltd. (E-Town Capital), was held at the Weisheng Building on July 27, alongside the onboarding of its first batch of enterprises and the signing of multiple project agreements. The event marked the official launch of the "Three Science Cities and One Demonstration Area" Integrated Innovation Platform of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA), establishing a new key link in the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements and ushering in a new phase of university-local government collaboration and industry-investment linkage. More than 100 participants attended the event, including officials from the Organization and Human Resources Department, Publicity and Culture Department, Science, Technology and Industry Promotion Bureau, and Finance and State-owned Assets Bureau of BDA. Representatives of E-Town Capital, its relevant departments and subsidiaries, investment and financial institutions, enterprises, and other partners also gathered to witness the occasion.
The establishment of the integrated innovation platform is a key initiative by BDA to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on "strengthening the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation", follow the relevant arrangements of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and respond to municipal leaders' call to "promote the concentration and commercialization of achievements from three science cities to one demonstration area". As the main platform of the "Three Science Cities and One Demonstration Area" of Beijing International Center for Science and Technology Innovation, BDA is working to commercialize high-quality scientific and technological achievements generated in the "three science cities". It is focused on developing four leading industries: next-generation information technology, high-end automobiles and new energy vehicles, biotechnology and healthcare, and robotics and intelligent manufacturing. It is also building out six future industries, including future information, future health, and future manufacturing. Its industrial ecosystem continues to mature, while innovation momentum continues to build.
Chu Tongjun, deputy director of Science, Technology and Industry Promotion Bureau of BDA, said in his remarks that he hoped E-Town Innovation would serve as a vital bridge for university-local collaboration, act as an accelerator for nurturing science and technology ventures, and foster an ecosystem integrating essential resources. He added that the platform should help BDA improve technology commercialization services and continuously optimize the innovation environment, making a positive contribution to unblocking the commercialization chain between university laboratories and industrial production lines.
The E-Town Innovation Integrated Innovation Platform features incubation spaces, independent offices, shared meeting rooms, shared negotiation rooms, and a multi-functional roadshow hall, with complete software and hardware facilities capable of fully accommodating project move-ins, industry-university-research matchmaking, entrepreneurial roadshows, and various other activities. Rooted in the Tsinghua Science Park and adjacent to the source of university innovation, the platform has innovatively built a "one incubation, one fund, one alliance" trinity full-chain service architecture, truly achieving integrated synergy of space carrying capacity, capital empowerment, and industrial resource linkage. Currently, the platform's supporting 1 billion yuan ($150 million) E-Town Shengxi Equity Investment Fund has completed filing, and a coordination mechanism has been established with the Beijing Venture Capital Innovation Service Alliance and the venture capital cluster of BDA, with the university-locality, industry-investment, and venture capital linkage ecosystem taking initial shape.
As the State-owned capital investment and operation company of BDA and the platform's construction and operation entity, E-Town Capital is committed to serving as a strategic, patient, and long-term capital provider that supports the growth of hard-tech enterprises. Over the years, the company has actively leveraged the guiding and multiplier effects of State-owned capital, as well as its countercyclical investment capabilities. Through an integrated industry-finance service system spanning equity investment, fund investment, technology finance, and industrial park operations, it has continued to increase investment in early-stage and small enterprises, with a particular focus on innovation, supporting the development of strategic emerging industries and future industries. As of the end of June 2026, the company's total assets exceeded 150 billion yuan ($22.41 billion) and cumulative investments surpassed 170 billion yuan ($25.40 billion). It managed over 300 projects and 110 funds, with aggregate fund assets under management exceeding 1.1 trillion yuan ($164.37 billion).
The establishment of E-Town Innovation is a key layout by E-Town Capital to extend its investment capabilities toward the source of innovation and move its service chain forward to early-stage projects, and an important milestone in the company's deep integration into the "Three Science Cities and One Demonstration Area" collaborative innovation framework. Chen Zhicheng , secretary of the Party committee and chairman of E-Town Capital, stated in his address that the company will anchor its functional positioning as a "professional, market-oriented, and value-oriented industrial empowerment investment platform", coordinate its own capital, industrial, and channel resources, fully ensure the platform's professional and standardized operation, serve as a bridge connecting university innovation sources with the fertile industrial ground of Beijing E-Town, and support the growth of every entrepreneurial team with refined, full-cycle, one-stop services.
At the event, agreements were signed with the first batch of resident enterprises and prospective investment projects, covering cutting-edge fields such as future information, future health, and future manufacturing. In the project roadshow session, five promising technology companies presented their core competitive strengths and business prospects, followed by in-depth discussions with participating investment institutions, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration.

Looking ahead, E-Town Innovation will continue to leverage its strengths in university-local collaboration and coordinated industrial investment, deepen its engagement with innovation at the source, and streamline the technology commercialization process. It will accelerate investment deployment, strengthen support for early-stage ventures, expand collaborative networks, and further develop its incubation ecosystem. Through these efforts, the platform aims to unlock greater innovation potential in BDA, reinforce the area's position as a hub for high-end, precision, and advanced industries, and provide sustained new momentum for the development of Beijing (the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region) International Center for Science and Technology Innovation. It also seeks to help more scientific and technological talents and innovative teams turn their ideas into reality and achieve their entrepreneurial ambitions.
